Island Park Doggy Daycare Takes in Homeless Dog Waiting for Adoption
Baby Love is a 5 1/2 year old pit mix with a personality as sweet as his name! Recently abandoned by his own family because they were moving and didn’t want him, Baby Love hasn’t let that that get him down. After being shuffled in between a few boarding facilities, Baby Love’s foster mom found Hounds Town Island Park and knew he would benefit from the fully interactive environment.
Through the pet care franchise’s philanthropic entity–Hounds Town Charities–each Hounds Town location partners with rescues and shelters in their local community to aid dogs in need by providing discounted doggy daycare, grooming, and boarding services. “Baby Love has been with us for about a week and we absolutely love him!” says Hounds Town Island Park owner Lauren. “He is very affectionate, loves kisses and to cuddle, and to play with his toys.”
In addition to receiving lots of TLC by the humans, Baby Love has also been playing in a group with dogs of similar size and temperament. The natural pack environment provides much-needed socialization, psychological stimulation, and exercise for dogs–especially necessary for those who have been confined to a shelter for a long period of time. The participation in doggy daycare will help Baby Love become more adoptable by enhancing his social skills and allowing him to become more balanced.
Baby Love has been without a family for more than a year, and he deserves a family of his own who won’t abandon him. He is fixed, up to date on shots, great with other dogs of his size, and very affectionate. For more information, call Hounds Town Island Park at 516.889.7777.
