Buzzworthy Tale: Lost Dog Seeks Solace at Hounds Town

Mar 25, 2024

They say home is where the heart is, and for Aries, a 3-year-old pit bull mix, home is more than just a place — it’s Hounds Town in Metro Detroit. In a remarkable tale that has captured the internet’s attention, Aries’ extraordinary story reaffirms the special bond between pets and their favorite hangouts.

Melissa Fickel’s routine trip to the park took an unexpected turn when a minor car accident left her and her pup Aries rattled. Startled by the collision, Aries made a daring escape from the car window and dashed off.

“I had the windows down because Aries likes to hang her head out,” Fickel told WXYZ. “As soon as there was that smack, as soon as I felt and heard it, almost instantaneously, she was out the window.”

But Aries wasn’t lost. With determination and instinct guiding her, she ran a mile down the road to a place she knew she would be safe, Hounds Town. Our doggy daycare had become Aries’ second home, filled with familiar faces and endless playtime.

Upon arriving at Hounds Town, Aries wasted no time. Security cameras captured the moment she bounded up to the front door. The staff welcomed Aries with open arms, providing comfort and care until Fickel could reunite with her adventurous pup.

For Travis Ogden, the franchise owner of Hounds Town Metro Detroit, Aries’ unexpected visit was remarkable. He marveled at her intelligence and determination, a testament to the bond between Aries and her cherished daycare.

As Aries and Fickel were joyfully reunited, Ogden couldn’t help but be touched. “She’s a frickin’ smart pup. She just knew where her safe place was after being so panicked from the car accident,” he told People Magazine. “It made my day to see the girl.”

For the team at Hounds Town Metro Detroit, Aries’ safe return was an incredible moment, reaffirming their commitment to providing a safe and welcoming doggy daycare environment for all their furry guests, ensuring that every visit feels like coming home.
