Doggie day care Hounds Town USA hosted a Customer Appreciation BBQ on Sunday, July 14 in Ronkonkoma. In addition to big raffle prizes and efforts to “dunk” CEO Michael Gould in the dunk tank, the afternoon had one more fun surprise. Two special guests meeting for the very first time: Taylor, an amazing young girl who just defeated cancer and Rosie, a wheelchair-bound dog rescued from an abusive home who now serves as the mascot for the doggie daycare organization.
Taylor–in remission from leukemia–is a youth ambassador for One At a Time, a nonprofit organization with a mission. One At a Time is dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of children battling life-threatening illnesses. Taylor loves puppies, and when she heard about Rosie, she wanted to meet the incredible dog. Enter Hounds Town USA. To celebrate Taylor’s remission, Hounds Town sponsored a trip for Taylor and her family to New York. Not only did she get to meet mascot Rosie, but she’ll be celebrating her birthday in New York City!
Founder Michael Gould started Hounds Town Charities, a 501c3, in 2011 to help both dogs and people. For more information on how to help or to donate, please visit Hounds Town Charities.
