Hounds Town Charities Helps Rehabilitate Puppy Destined for a Life of Neglect
In April 2017, Hounds Town Charities–a 501(c)3 that focuses on rehabilitating dogs from local shelters here on Long Island–welcomed 10-month-old blue nose pit Fiona into their program. For the past 6 weeks, Fiona has been participating in interactive doggie daycare at Hounds Town Ronkonkoma, the charity’s corporate location, as well as training to learn basic obedience like “heel, sit, and stay.”
The socialization that the natural pack environment at Hounds Town provides for dogs like Fiona is priceless, as other dogs such as the charity’s Cappuccino–a former bait dog who has been waiting for more than a year for a home–help Fiona learn basic dog manners as well as boost confidence.
Fiona is now ready for adoption to the right home. She would love a home with another dog, and does need structure and leadership from a loving owner.
