Doggie Daycare Franchise Hounds Town USA to Open Two Locations in New Jersey
Booming pet care franchise Hounds Town USA—Home to the Happiest Dogs on Earth!—will be adding two more fully interactive pet care facilities to their system, both in New Jersey. The franchise will open a corporate location in a 4,000-square foot facility near the Jersey Shore, the second corporate-owned for the franchise. The second Jersey location will be opened by Steven Garibell and Anthony Mitchell in Bergen County, and will serve the thousands of dog-loving commuters who travel into the city every day. Opening date and location details to be announced in the coming month for both stores, which will be open for business by the summer.
The additions, a natural extension for the New York-based company, take the location count to ten for this growing pet care franchise. “We are thrilled to be growing so quickly, and to be partnering with excited entrepreneurs who are enthusiastic about growing our brand with us,” says Hounds Town USA President Jackie Bondanza.
As New Jersey natives, Steve and Anthony knew the need for a fully interactive daycare like Hounds Town existed in bustling Bergen County. When Steve, who spent his career in retail and financial services, adopted an adorable pup named Cooper he set out to find a fun and safe environment for him while he was at work. He had no such luck. “I couldn’t find a place with the family feel I was looking for,” explains Steve. “I decided then it was time to take a step and create a place for him. The moment I spoke to Mike and Jackie I knew that Hounds Town was the perfect fit.” His business partner Anthony has a very entrepreneurial mindset and has started various small businesses while getting his degrees, and currently works as a financial advisor. “I was quickly drawn to Hounds Town because of my love for animals and the franchise offers a unique way to help dogs and the community,” says Anthony.
Founded in 2001 by former NYPD and Nassau County canine handler and Navy veteran Michael Gould, Hounds Town USA has cared for more than 700,000 canine and feline visitors across various locations since its inception. “What makes us different than other pet care franchises is that we know what we are doing,” explains Mike, Founder and CEO. “Our systems, policies and procedures are backed by nearly 40 years of commercial dog management experience. Our franchisees are fully trained to offer clients a fully interactive experience in a safe and natural pack environment.”
Another factor that sets Hounds Town apart is that the pet care franchise does not breed discriminate. “We welcome dogs of all kinds, including bully breeds, who are often misunderstood by even the most well-intentioned people,” explains Gould. Bully breeds banned from other doggie daycares accounts for nearly 20% of the entire dog population. “We look forward to bringing Hounds Town to New Jersey and to continuing our national expansion!”
